Animals and laughter at Awatea
Our stay was filled with warmth and laughter, and Kevin's splendid sense of humor made us feel right at home. Breakfast was a feast—fresh, homemade, and satisfying! We even enjoyed feeding the resident animals, which was a delightful highlight.
Sadly, the weather turned stormy, so our plans were disrupted, including a dolphin swim. Nonetheless, it didn’t overshadow our enchanting experience.

Awatea Country Bed & Breakfast offered stunning mountain views, which made waking up a joy. The breakfast was simply sensational—I feasted on eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, and sausage, along with fresh pikelets, yogurt, and fruit. The electric blanket in the cozy Deluxe Queen Room provided extra warmth on chilly nights. Kevin, our host, truly made the stay memorable with his hospitality and shared fascinating local stories. I loved the access to the patio and garden furniture, perfect for enjoying the beautiful ambiance. Even though I enjoyed the overall experience immensely, I wish the shower pressure had been a bit stronger. The noise from nearby animals could be a little loud at times as well, which may affect light sleepers.

We had such a great time feeding the animals and enjoying the tasty homemade breakfasts with plenty of vegetarian choices. The lovely garden area and cozy lounge made for perfect spots to unwind after a day of adventure. Just a heads-up, the shower pressure could've been better, but it hardly put a damper on our stay! 😊

The breakfast was simply stunning, complemented by an excellent tea and coffee station. It was enjoyable to spend time with the owner's friendly animals, which added a unique charm to the stay. The facilities for mobility were well thought out, making it comfortable for all guests.
The height of the toilet could be an issue for some guests.

The breakfasts were mind-blowing, I mean, we're talking fresh fruits, fluffy pancakes, and everything cooked to perfection. Plus, Kevin took the time to let us feed the animals, which was a fun experience that made us feel like we belonged there.
